Vaddio RoboSHOT and Newtek NDI Deliver Complete End to End IP Workflow with PTZ Cameras

Customers Now Have An Affordable Broadcast Multi-Camera IP Solution

April 19, 2016

MINNEAPOLIS, MN and LAS VEGAS, NV – April 19, 2016 – Vaddio (, the premier provider of conferencing and production audio visual solutions, today announced its adoption of NewTek’s open Network Device Interface (NDI™) standard for Vaddio RoboSHOT™ PTZ cameras. With NDI integration, RoboSHOT cameras are now recognizable as a source by other NDI-enabled devices and applications connected to a standard Ethernet local area network, enabling production operators access to and control of professional PTZ cameras in NewTek NDI environments.

The NewTek NDI standard provides a more cost effective and efficient approach to distributed production environments resulting in higher quality, timely content delivery and production. The NDI standard for live production IP workflow is bi-directional and backwards compatible with a large number of products from top manufacturers already utilizing NewTek’s technology enabling IP interoperability. As a result, NDI-enabled cameras like RoboSHOT can be immediately part of a larger IP-based workflow.

“NewTek and Vaddio have a synergistic view towards the customer benefits of virtualizing video production over standard IP networks. Vaddio has led the transformation in the professional PTZ camera market in 2014 with the introduction of the RoboSHOT’s IP-centric feature set,” said Darrin Thurston, Vice President of Product Development for Vaddio. “Now with NewTek’s NDI, a standard framework has been established for the industry and creates a complete IP production workflow that can be easily implemented by our customers.”

The combination of NewTek Connect Pro software paired with Vaddio’s RoboSHOT PTZ cameras solves operational challenges faced by Corporate AV, Higher Education, House of Worship, and similar markets. With NDI, remote studio operations can be realized over standard network infrastructure saving significant manpower without degradation of the live production event. NDI enables an operator in a centralized studio or network operating center to conduct live production events across the whole campus without having to be physically present.

"The use of IP video promises to fundamentally change the way that we interact and work with video throughout the entire process from acquisition to delivery,” said Michael Kornet, executive Vice President, Business Development. “Both Vaddio and NewTek are leaders in this space and by working together using NewTek NDI and NewTek Connect Pro software, we are truly excited to create an affordable broadcast camera IP solution available now for customers with multi-camera production workflows."

NDI is now available as a royalty-free software developer kit (SDK) for any company looking to establish IP workflows within their organization, or in production tools and systems they manufacture.
