Vaddio™ Expands Capabilities of ProductionVIEW™ Switchers

Vaddio introduces PC Expander at InfoComm 2007

June 11, 2007

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Vaddio is pleased to announce the newest member of their ProductionVIEW line of products -- PC Expander™. PC Expander will be launched at InfoComm 2007 in Anaheim, California. Vaddio is located at booth #4050 where our complete line of cameras and camera control equipment will be on display.

PC Expander is a 1-RU device that scales the standard definition (SD) output of either the ProductionVIEW or ProductionVIEW FX seamless switchers to a high-resolution image, up to SXGA. Also included in PC Expander is a computer input and switching system that, when connected to ProductionVIEW, allows a computer image to be displayed in its native resolution, up to SXGA. PC Expander can also operate as a stand-alone product, and either scale video up to SXGA, or 1080i.

"Customers were looking for an easy way to integrate a computer output into the ProductionVIEW, without scan converting video down to NTSC," states Rob Sheeley, president of Vaddio. "We created PC Expander to provide high resolution video from a computer, but also scale the SD output of ProductionVIEW at the same time."

Input options include SD composite, component or S-video, as well as a PC input. PC Expander connects to ProductionVIEW through Control port 6. This connection allows ProductionVIEW to communicate directly with PC Expander, permitting it to switch between the scaled video output of ProductionVIEW and the PC.
